The same room, ten times, in order. Most fitters show you week one and week five. The middle is where the trust is: a house with no kitchen in it, and a plan for getting it back.

Sheet 06 / 13How it worksEight stages, survey to sign-off

Eight stages. Named, timed, and in this order.

Nothing here is a surprise. The only stage that can move is the unit lead time, and you will know that number before you pay a deposit.

  1. 01Survey Tom comes out, measures the room laser-to-laser, checks the floor for level and the walls for square, and looks at where the services actually are. Tom · 2 hours · free
  2. 02Drawings Plan and elevations at 1:20, drawn to your room rather than to a designs layout. You get them as a PDF and we change them until they are right. Tom · 5 working days
  3. 03Fixed written quote Priced the way sheet 04 is priced: units, worktop, appliances, labour and trades on separate lines. Fixed for 60 days. It does not move unless you change the drawing. With the drawings
  4. 04Deposit and order 25% releases the unit order and books your fit dates in writing. You get the programme on sheet 05 with your dates on it. 25% · same day
  5. 05Units made Painted in-frame carcasses are built and sprayed to order. This is the wait, and it is the honest reason we quote so far ahead. 6–8 weeks
  6. 06Fit The five weeks on sheet 05. Same two fitters start to finish, same electrician, same plasterer, same plumber. Tom + Joe · 25 days
  7. 07Snagging You write the list, not us. Anything on it that is ours gets done before the last invoice, not after it. You · 1 week to look
  8. 08Sign-off and paperwork Electrical certificate, gas certificate if the gas moved, appliance manuals in a folder, paint codes written on the inside of the sink cupboard door. Tom · final 30%

Nobody is subcontracted off a website the week before. If one of them is ill, the programme moves — we do not send a stranger into your house to keep a date.

Sheet 08 / 13What we don't doAnd who this isn't for

Five jobs we will turn down.

Being told no in week one is cheaper for both of us than being told no in week four.

  • Flat-pack assemblyIf the units are already bought and boxed in the garage, you want an assembler at a day rate, not us.
  • Kitchens under £12,000We cannot fit one properly for less and still level a floor and re-plaster a wall. Below that, a good local handyman is the right call.
  • Anything more than 20 miles outSkipton, Gargrave, Addingham, Long Preston, Threshfield, Grassington. Past that the travel starts costing you and the snagging gets slow.
  • Supply-onlyWe do not sell units to fit yourself. The guarantee on sheet 09 depends on us having fitted them.
  • Starting before the drawings are signedEvery job that has gone wrong for us started with somebody in a hurry.

The guarantee, in plain English

If a door drops, a drawer stops closing properly, a joint opens or a seal fails within five years, we come back and fix it at no charge, and we come back within ten working days. If a supplier's part has failed we chase them, not you. What is not covered: damage, water left standing on a timber worktop, and anybody else's work after we have left. That is the whole of it — there is no registration card.

Three customers, three jobs, three drawings.

Every review here is tied to a job on sheet 02. No stars, no aggregate score — the village, the month, and the kitchen it is about.

“The programme he gave us in November was the programme. The sink came back on the Wednesday he said it would, eleven weeks earlier. My husband did not believe it.”
Kestrel Close, SkiptonIsland kitchen · February 2026
“He told us on the first visit that our budget was about eight thousand short and exactly which bits to change. Nobody else did that. Two of them just sent a number.”

“Two dogs, three children and a boot room fitted around all of them in six days. The dust barriers stayed up the whole time and the hall carpet was fine.”
