Colour services need a patch test 48 hours before — see below. Colour correction is quoted at the consultation, never over the phone: we'd only be guessing, and guesses are how people end up paying twice.

The 48-hour patch test
If any colour is going on your hair — a full head, a root tint, even a toner — we have to patch test you at least 48 hours before. It's the law and it's our insurance, and it's the single thing that makes people lose an appointment.
It takes two minutes, it's free, it goes behind your ear and you don't need an appointment. Pop in any time we're open, or ask us to post you a kit.
What happens when you arrive
Coat on the hook, something to drink, then ten minutes with your stylist before anything gets wet — photos on your phone, what you hated about the last one, how much time you'll really give it in the morning.
Then it goes on your card, so next time we start from what we did, not from nothing.
Do you have to make conversation?
No. Say "quiet one today" at the desk and it goes on the booking. Nobody will ask you about your holiday.
Getting here
Two minutes' walk from Gascoyne Way car park, four from Harrogate North. One shallow lip at the door and a ramp behind it — ask and it'll be down before you arrive.
Before and after
the work
Same head, same light, same day. Credited to whoever did it.
Two lifts and a copper 7.4 over the top, with the root left deliberately darker so the regrowth in ten weeks is a shadow, not a line.
Ruth · 4 hours 20 · £245 including the cutNothing taken off the length. Every curl cut where it actually sits, so it stops shelving on one side when it dries.
Nia · 1 hour 30 · £58A gloss to kill the yellow and a proper long layer cut into it. Half the price of starting the colour again, and it'll still look deliberate at Christmas.
Esme · 2 hours 40 · £146What people say
What people say
Four people have cut my curls wet. Nia is the first who cut them dry, and the first who got it right.
Ruth talked me out of the colour I came in asking for. She was right and it saved me two hundred quid.
My son sat still for Marek. That has never once happened anywhere else.
Off the record card
what's written on their card
Not a star rating out of two hundred strangers — the actual notes a card holds, and what people said when we pulled theirs back out.
Curls & coils · card since 2023 · with Nia
Booked at midnight before a wedding I was in, and the card already had my section sizes from eighteen months back. Nobody asked me a single question — she just checked nothing had changed.Aaliyah B., Bengeo
Colour correction · card since 2021 · with Ruth
She pulled up the formula from my correction two years ago before I'd even sat down. The £58 top-up took forty minutes this time, not the two hours the first one took.Karen O., Wetherby
Clipper cut, age 11 · card since 2024 · with Marek
My son has a fade number written on his card so nobody has to ask "what did we do last time" ever again. Four visits in, twenty minutes each, no fuss and no tears.Sam D., Harrogate
Curtain fringe & balayage · card since 2025 · with Esme
Her notes said my fringe needed nine weeks, not the six I always ask for. First time a curtain fringe has actually grown out looking like I meant it.Freya L., Harrogate

Last cut goes on the book 45 minutes before we close. Thursday runs late for people who can't do daytime.
Walk-ins
If there's a gap, it's yours — that's what the sheet at the top is for. Best odds are Tuesday and Wednesday before eleven. Ring first if you're making a journey.
If you can't make it
Life happens and we'd rather you told us. Give us 24 hours and there's nothing to pay. Under that, or a no-show, and we ask for half the appointment before we book you in again. A stylist sat in an empty chair doesn't get paid, and it's usually a whole afternoon.
Access
One shallow lip at the front door with a portable ramp behind it. Ground floor throughout, a backwash chair with a movable arm, and an accessible loo.

Not everyone wants to ring at half four on a Tuesday. Fill this in instead and we'll come back to you with a time, not a form letter.
- It arrives as an ordinary email in one inbox. No portal, no login, nothing extra to check.
- Answered from a phone, usually the same day we're open. Tue – Sat.
- Held a time on the sheet further up? It comes through attached to this.
- Nothing is booked until one of us says so, in writing.
